OCTA Official Named to Run Caltrans in O.C.
A high-ranking official for the Orange County Transportation Authority will head the Irvine-based division of the California Department of Transportation, state officials announced this week.
Cindy Quon, a civil engineer who manages project development at OCTA, will become director of Caltrans District 12 on Aug. 3. She succeeds Ken Nelson, who was acting director for 20 months.
Quon will be in charge of planning, building and maintaining all state highways in Orange County. The district office employs about 1,200 and has an annual operating budget of about $97 million.
