Guided-Missile Frigate Open for Public Tours
From Times Staff Writers
The guided-missile frigate USS McClusky at the Naval Weapons Station will be open to the public Saturday from noon to 4 p.m., the first time in five years that a Navy ship has been available for tours.
“Normally, our operational schedule does not permit public visitation of the wonderful ships that call on our installation,” said Capt. Paul Bruno, the station’s commanding officer.
Because of local street construction, public access will be available only at the station’s main gate, 800 Seal Beach Blvd.
