A chronicle of the first two decades of Israel’s existence as a modern nation, the documentary “In Search of Peace, Part One: 1948-1967” uses interviews, archival films and photos to blend historical narrative, anecdotes and dramatic personal stories and offer new insights into the origins of the Middle East conflict. Michael Douglas narrates. The film also features the voices of Edward Asner, Anne Bancroft, Richard Dreyfuss, Miriam Margolyes and Michael York.

A head-scratching array of watercraft--from kayaks to luxury yachts--is expected to attract throngs of water enthusiasts to the Ventura County Boat Show at Channel Islands Harbor. Beyond the myriad vessel types, visitors to the sixth annual event can browse among marine-related displays, fishing demonstrations, vendor booths, nautical clothing and a large saltwater aquarium.
