Suit Alleges Racial Profiling by Theme Park
A class-action lawsuit accuses Six Flags Magic Mountain of racially profiling minorities and denying entrance to the Valencia amusement park to some who “look like a gang member.”
In an amended suit filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, five Latinos allege that during a visit to the park last year, they were harassed, detained and then sent away although no weapons or drugs were found during a search. They seek punitive damages for all others who may have encountered similar treatment, which could be more than 1,000 people in the last year, attorneys said.
Magic Mountain officials in a statement issued Thursday said accusations of “discriminatory admission policies is absurd.”
