One Killed as Truck Jackknifes on Freeway
From Times Staff Reports
A tractor-trailer lost control on the Hollywood Freeway on Friday afternoon, striking two cars, killing one motorist and closing at least three northbound lanes well into the night, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
The truck jackknifed at 5:40 p.m. just north of the Sherman Way exit, CHP Officer Charles Blair said. The truck hit a Lexus, then a Honda. The Honda burst into flames and its driver was killed, Blair said.
