Two people were critically injured and five others received minor injuries Sunday night when they were struck by a vehicle in Boyle Heights, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman said.
The seven, some of them children, were hit by a passenger car shortly after 8 p.m. as they attempted to cross the street in the 2800 block of East 2nd Street, said Brian Humphrey of the Fire Department.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known. Two of the injured were women and the remaining five were children, ranging in age from 2 to 11. “Some were from the same family,” Humphrey said.
They were taken to County-USC Medical Center and White Memorial Medical Center.
