New Metrolink Budget Means More O.C. Trips
The Metrolink board of directors has approved a $236.5-million budget for fiscal year 2001-02 that will include additional round-trip services systemwide, including in Orange County.
Metrolink will also increase train service in Ventura County, the Inland Empire and the Antelope Valley. There are now 130 trains operating weekdays and 32 running on weekends. Metrolink officials said they expect revenues to increase by 7% to $37.8 million because of the increased ridership.
Also, Metrolink expects to add 28 passenger cars and four locomotives by the end of the year.
