“This was trio con brio” enthused one guest as he departed the Westside bash held in three neighboring penthouse suites. Opening their homes were Ginny Mancini, Eunice and Hal David, and Bambi Holzer and Charles Schatz. The cocktail reception, which featured a different culinary theme in each residence, was the kickoff for the fifth season of the Henry Mancini Institute and to announce plans for the annual Mancini Musicale. The concert showcases the young artists enrolled in a summer program at UCLA. This year’s concert will be staged at Paramount Studios on Aug. 18. Mancini announced that Quincy Jones will be honored with the second annual HANK award at the event.

Spotted at the buffets were institute director Jack Elliott and his wife, Bobbi; Mancini’s daughters Felice and Monica and her husband Gregg Field and grandson Chris Mancini; Corky and Mike Stoller; Janet Leigh and Bob Brandt; Nancy and Alan Livingston; Fiorenza and Malcolm Lucas; Catherine and Patrick Williams; Gail and Gerald Oppenheimer; Joan and Allan Burns; Monica Lewis Lang; and Merle and Peter Mullin.
