“Nostalgia,” by British playwright Lucinda Coxson, will have its world premiere on South Coast Repertory’s second stage in November; aficionados interested in watching it grow to fruition can check out workshop showings, a trial run aimed at revealing any bugs that need to be corrected before the final production. The script concerns two brothers who live on a farm in Wales, their mysterious female neighbor and a famous writer of detective fiction who tries to unlock the woman’s secrets.* “Nostalgia” runs Thursday-Sunday, 7:45 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m. $18.

Creating imaginary landscapes using tempura in the style of American West painter Albert Bierstadt is part of the Fullerton Museum Center’s “Super Tuesday and Thursday” summer art and education program for youths ages 8 to 12.
