Avengers Tonight
VS. CHICAGO, 7, CHANNEL 9
Site--Staples Center.
Radio--KMPC (1540).
Records--Avengers 4-6, Rush 5-5.
Update--In its first season of Arena football, Chicago already has succeeded where Los Angeles has failed in two seasons--reach .500. The Rush is in the 11th playoff spot with four games remaining. The Avengers, at 15th, still have hopes of being among the 12 teams that qualify for the postseason, but this game is critical. The Avengers come in on a high, having won four of their last five, including an overtime victory against Arizona last week. The Rush has lost its last two, including a 47-37 defeat to Detroit last week. Avenger receiver Chris Jackson caught a team-record 12 passes for 144 yards and four touchdowns against Arizona to share league player of the week honors with Grand Rapids quarterback Clint Dolezel. Rush offensive specialist Joe Douglass is having a tremendous season, with career highs of 71 receptions, 940 yards and 19 touchdowns.
