Passmore Recalled Quickly; Kelly Used Early, Often

It didn’t take Steve Passmore long to move across town.

Wednesday, the Kings traded the reserve goalie, who had been playing for the Chicago Wolves of the International Hockey League, to the Chicago Blackhawks.

Thursday, the Blackhawks recalled Passmore, 28, from the Wolves and sent their backup goalie, Robbie Tallas, to the IHL team.

The newest King, center Steve Kelly, obtained Wednesday from the New Jersey Devils for future considerations, was immediately plugged into the lineup by Coach Andy Murray, who used him on 11 shifts.

Defenseman Aaron Miller, who sat out practice Wednesday because of a hip flexor, played his regular shifts Thursday.

The Kings now get a break in the schedule, playing three of their next four at Staples Center, the exception being Sunday’s game against the Ducks in Anaheim.

The Kings’ other road games in March are a pair in San Jose. The next time the team leaves California will be for a three-game trip to end the regular season.
