Rose Pryor; Longtime Northrop Employee

Rose Pryor, a retired personnel representative, died Friday at Ojai Community Hospital after a brief illness. She was 84.

Pryor was born Oct. 17, 1916, in Hibbing, Minn., and attended school there before moving with her family to California. She graduated from Huntington High School in Culver City.

She worked for the Northrop Corp. in Hawthorne as a personnel representative and lived several years in Taiwan with her husband, Bert, who was also employed by Northrop.

She was an Ojai resident for the last 25 years and was active in the community with Help of Ojai and the Ojai Valley Women’s Club.

Pryor is survived by two brothers, Victor and Louie Amelino, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death a year ago by Bert, her husband of 33 years.

A memorial service for her friends and family is scheduled at noon March 10 at her Ojai home. For directions and information, call Victor Amelino at (310) 372-6923.
