Crash Victim ‘Getting Better’
Albert Levy, who was critically injured when a car plowed through a crowd of students in Isla Vista near the UC Santa Barbara campus, was taken off life support and his condition upgraded Friday, according to hospital officials.
Levy’s condition “went from critical to serious yesterday, so he’s getting better,” said Linda Jones, nursing supervisor for Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara.
Four people were killed in the Feb. 23 incident: Albert’s sister, Ruth Levy, 20, a student at Santa Barbara City College; Nicholas Bourdakis, 20, a sophomore from the Bay Area; and Christopher Divis, 20, a sophomore from San Diego.
