Go on Strike Early and Beat the Rush
I don’t know why all you baseball fans are getting excited over the coming season because there will be yet another work stoppage at the end of it. As a baseball fan, I refuse to be duped by the owners and players into investing my time and money in this season.
I see the writing on the wall--the end of the collective bargaining agreement, the Alex Rodriguez $252-million contract, the imbalance in competition and all of the players whining about their contracts.
So I have made a vow not to follow baseball this season. “The new Dodgers?” “The new Angels?” “The new strike zone?” Who cares? There’s not going to be any baseball in six months, so why bother wasting my time now?
