Hawaii Upsets Fresno State

Predrag Savovic scored 23 points Friday night and Hawaii held off No. 25 Fresno State, 76-67, in the semifinals of the Western Athletic Conference tournament at Tulsa, Okla.
The Rainbow Warriors (16-13) committed 25 turnovers, but only fell behind three times and never by more than one point. Poor shooting proved to be the undoing for Fresno State (25-6).
Tulsa 59, Texas El Paso 56--The Golden Hurricane advanced to the championship by holding the Miners scoreless in the final 1:50.
Tulsa (21-10) made only 31.7% of its shots, but its defense proved to be the difference down the stretch. Texas El Paso (22-8) had two chances to tie the score, but three-point tries by Eugene Costello and Chris Neal were off the mark.
