Two juveniles were stabbed, one critically, during a fight Saturday night between rival gangs, authorities said.

“At this point we have at least two stab victims on opposite gangs,” said Sgt. Larry Meyers of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.

A nursing supervisor at St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo said the victims arrived about 9 p.m. and that one of them is in critical condition.

Meyers said at least one Oxnard gang may have been involved but investigators don’t know when or where the fight took place.

“These guys aren’t being very cooperative,” he said.

Meanwhile, police say another gang-related stabbing took place about 8 p.m. in downtown Oxnard.

The victim was standing outside a liquor store when he was approached by several young men who asked where he was from.

“They didn’t like the answer he gave,” said Sgt. Dan Christian of the Oxnard Police Department. The unidentified man was stabbed in the chest and back. He was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, where officials would not release his condition. Christian said the wounds didn’t appear to be life-threatening.
