Pepperdine was on the minds of Indiana players and Davis after last year’s first-round upset.
“A lot of people keep referring to the Pepperdine loss and the early exits before that, but this is a different team and a different mind-set,” Davis said.
Said forward Kirk Haston: “Sitting on the bench, not having any control over the celebration that was taking place by the Pepperdine players, it was a humbling feeling. Sitting there, having nothing to do but wait for next year.”
