Coroner Studies Bone Found Near Monument
A large bone, possibly human, was discovered Friday afternoon next to a monument being built in Compton to honor the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and Cesar Chavez, said Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials.
A construction worker made the discovery in dirt fill at the site near Compton Boulevard and Willowbrook Avenue about 2:30 p.m. The bone was delivered to the coroner’s office Friday night to determine its origins.
