Hitmen Rally to Overtake Maniax, 16-15

Wally Richardson completed a one-yard touchdown pass to Zola Davis in the corner of the end zone with nine seconds to play, giving the New York/New Jersey Hitmen a 16-15 XFL victory over the Memphis Maniax in front of 15,781 on a rainy Saturday night at East Rutherford, N.J.

It was the second touchdown hookup of the game for Richardson and Davis, who combined for a nine-yard scoring pass in the third quarter after the Maniax (3-4) had taken a 15-3 lead.

The Hitmen (3-4), who overcame three quarters of turnovers, penalties and missed opportunities, drove 64 yards in nine plays for the victory.

Las Vegas 34, Birmingham 12--Ryan Clement led the Outlaws to 22 consecutive points and Las Vegas (4-3) used a stingy defense to dominate the Thunderbolts (2-5) before an announced 23,558 at Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas defense gave up only 17 yards rushing and 95 yards passing. The Outlaws created three turnovers and had seven quarterback sacks.
