El Modena 76, Villa Park 54--Dan Steagall went 21-10 3/4 to win the long jump for Villa Park (2-1, 0-2).

In the Empire League:

Katella 109, Century 30--Long Duong won the 110 hurdles in 15.7 and David Giang cleared 14-1 in the pole vault for Katella (1-0 in league).

In the Golden West League:

Tustin 91, Ocean View 24--Alex Marbley cleared a county-best 6-10 in the high jump for Tustin.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Corona del Mar 75, Laguna Beach 61--Josh Yelsey won the 1,600 in 4:26.6 and Corona del Mar teammate Travis Beardslee was second in 4:31.7. Yelsey also won the 800 and 3,200.

In the South Coast League:

Mission Viejo 87, Dana Hills 49--Scott Bennett won the shotput (51-2 3/4) and discus (151-1) for Mission Viejo.

Trabuco Hills 71, No. 10 El Toro 65--Matt Bruno’s victories in the 100 (10.9) and 200 (22.5) helped Trabuco Hills to the upset.

In the Sunset League:

No. 6 Esperanza 81, Fountain Valley 55--Jarrett Deschenes was first in the 110 hurdles (15.8) and 300 hurdles (40.9) and teammate Travis Jones won the shotput (55-5 1/2) and discus (150-2) for the Aztecs.

In Empire League girls’ meets:

Katella 124, Century 2--Cortney Stafford went 37-1 1/2 to win the triple jump for Katella (1-0 in league).

In the Freeway League:

Sunny Hills 64, Sonora 62-- Trailing by a point, Julie Berkley, Stacey Kim, Nicole Sharpe and Claire Kim won the 1,600-meter relay in 4:27.1 to win the meet for Sunny Hills.

In the Garden Grove league:

La Quinta 81, Santiago 46--Kim Duong won the 100 (13.3), 200 (29.8), long jump (15-6) and triple jump (34-6 1/2).

In the South Coast League:

San Clemente 75, Capistrano Valley 60--Marquita Taylor returned from a hamstring injury to win the 100 (12.3) and the 200 (25.8) for host San Clemente (1-2, 1-0).

In the Sunset League:

No. 3 Esperanza 113, Fountain Valley 15--Maribeth Buche won the 400 (1:01.3) and 800 (2:24.8) for the Aztecs. Teammate Julie Handy was first in the 100 hurdles (16.4) and 300 hurdles (48.4), and Taylor Cusic won the long jump (15-10) and triple jump (34-10).
