3 Head New Beckman Coulter Divisions

George E. Bers, Edgar E. Vivanco and Albert R. Ziegler have been named presidents of new divisions at Beckman Coulter Inc. in Fullerton. Bers, who recently joined the company as vice president for bioresearch, was appointed president of the life science research division. The specialty testing division will be led by Vivanco, formerly senior vice president of the company’s diagnostic development, corporate manufacturing & quality division. Ziegler will head the clinical diagnostics division. He was formerly senior vice president of the company’s diagnostics commercial operations.

In addition, Dr. Risa J. Lavizzo-Mourey has joined the board of directors. She succeeds Carolyne K. Davis, who retired from the board. Lavizzo-Mourey is a senior vice president and director of the health care group at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She is also professor of medicine and health care systems at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, director of the university’s Institute on Aging and chief of the division of geriatric medicine.

* James J. Dufficy has been named regulatory and special counsel for First American Corp. in Santa Ana. He is responsible for compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Dufficy joined First American in 1994 as regional claims counsel in Phoenix for the company’s principal subsidiary, First American Title Insurance Co. In 1996, he became senior national claims counsel and moved to Santa Ana. Kathleen M. Collins was named special counsel responsible for assisting in the development of joint venture arrangements. She will retain the position of associate corporate counsel. Collins joined First American in 1997 as associate counsel for First American Title. Before that, she was a paralegal in the Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., offices of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

* Edward M. Tracy was appointed chairman of the board of directors of Interactive Solutions Corp. in Irvine. He succeeds Jack Lake, who resigned. Tracy previously was chairman of the board, president and chief executive of Capital Gaming International Inc., a casino management company. Before that, he was president and chief executive of the Trump Organization, which included casinos in Atlantic City.

* Jay Carnahan and Rick Nelson have formed Orion Property Partners in Newport Beach, a real estate services, investment and development company. Carnahan operated CMG Real Estate and Nelson was with C.J. Segerstrom & Sons for 20 years. Bob Thagard and John Bendetti also have joined the company. Thagard previously was with CB Commercial and the Irvine Co. Bendetti had been with Colliers-Seeley and IDM Properties.

* Clark Neuhoff has joined the commercial development division of Sares-Regis Group in Irvine as director of development. He had been development manager for the Orange County office of Koll Development Co. Neuhoff has also been an acquisition analyst for contaminated and distressed properties at Koll Investment Management.

* Peter C. DeAngelis has joined IQinVision Corp. in Santa Ana Heights as president and chief executive. Previously, he was vice president of engineering and chief technical officer for Rokenbok Toy Co. in San Diego and, before that, director of new products at Newpoint Corp.

* Greg Taylor was named president of Stream2Go Inc. in La Palma. He formerly was a partner with NexDance Business Consultants.

* Jason Kimes has been appointed marketing supervisor at Saflock’s Costa Mesa facility. He was previously a trade show specialist. Before joining the company, Kimes was an event administration manager for Precision Events Inc. in Anaheim.

* Donald D. Bradley has been appointed senior vice president and general counsel at Nationwide Health Properties Inc. in Newport Beach. He was formerly general counsel at Furon Co. and a special counsel with the law firm of O’Melveny & Myers LLP.

* Jill Chambers has been appointed account executive at Roxburgh, a Costa Mesa communications company. She joined the company three years ago as a senior account coordinator and was later named client services manager. Before joining Roxburgh, she was a senior account coordinator at the Wilshire Group in Irvine.

* Dennis Shen and Vincent Tsao have been added to the board of directors of Worldwide Wireless Networks Inc. in Orange. Shen is one of the company’s founders and serves on the advisory board. Tsao is a director and vice president of Asian operations for Multacom.

* Neil Snyder has been named vice president of finance for Net-Strike Worldwide in Newport Beach. He had been director of corporate development. Snyder joined the company from Ernst & Young’s New Ventures and Global Corporate Development groups.

* Ted Carrier has been appointed president and chief executive of Willtech International in Santa Ana. Before joining Willtech, he was chief operating and financial officer of Telcore Inc. and spent four years with Cox PCS.

* Gelareh Arfania has joined Sunwest Bank in Tustin as vice president and premier banking manager. She had been a vice president and client manager at Bank of America, and before that was an assistant vice president and client manager at Wells Fargo.
