Fullerton Sweeps Softball Series in Sacramento
Monica Lucatero’s double in the top of the sixth inning scored pinch-runner Kristy Halagarda and gave Cal State Fullerton a 1-0 victory over Sacramento State Sunday in a Big West Conference softball game in Sacramento.
The victory completed a three-game sweep for the eighth-ranked Titans (30-8, 3-0), who swept Sacramento State (9-17, 0-3) in a doubleheader Saturday.
Yasmin Mossadeghi had two hits for Cal State Fullerton.
In the UC Irvine women’s tennis invitational:
UC Irvine 4, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 3--Trailing, 3-2, the Anteaters (4-12) won the last two points on singles victories by Natalie Exon, a two-set winner over Angie Bagheri, and Nickole Kabe, who defeated Danielle Hustedt, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2. Cal Poly is 8-5.
UC Irvine plays Nevada in the second round today at 1 p.m.
