Maker Replacing Part in Aeron Office Chairs
Office furniture maker Herman Miller Inc. is replacing a part in its popular Aeron office chair that interferes in adjusting the chair’s height.
The Zeeland, Mich.-based company is replacing a pneumatic cylinder in the Aeron’s center column. A company review of the chairs found that the cylinder in some chair models had bent. The problem affects less than 1% of the Aerons in use and only certain models manufactured in late 1998 and early 1999.
The Aeron, created by Santa Monica industrial designer Donald Chadwick in partnership with Bill Stumpf, is one of the nation’s most popular high-end office chairs.
