Computer Disposal Topic of Workshop
State and local environmental and business leaders met in Oxnard this week to discuss the problem of disposing of discarded computers and electronics.
The purpose of Wednesday’s workshop, according to officials from the California Resource Recovery Assn. and National Recycling Coalition, was to draw attention to the dangers that cathode ray tubes in computers, electronic equipment and televisions pose to the environment.
Jay Duncan, Oxnard’s recycling manager, said the Del Norte Regional Recycling and Transfer Station accepts electronic equipment to be recycled. The Oxnard station, at 111 Del Norte Blvd., is open 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
