A Movable Feast

With the option of dining at one bistro--or several--for a three-course dinner, 270 people participated in the Laguna Playhouse’s 10th annual A Movable Feast benefit.

At $100 to $200 a ticket--the higher amount got you bubbly and limo service--the progressive affair April 23 featured the culinary specialties of eight Laguna Beach restaurants, including Cedar Creek Inn, Five Feet, French 75, Sorrento Grille and 230 Forest Avenue.

Ginny Ueberroth was among the diners--she chose grilled portabello mushroom salad at Villa Romana Trattoria, Chilean sea bass at Claes--situated in picturesque Hotel Laguna--and creme bru^lee with fresh berries at Partners Bistro.

With the play “Fully Committed” running at the theater through May 20, the timing for the fund-raiser was ideal. Executive Director Richard Stein noted: “It’s a tour de force comedy about a harried restaurant reservations clerk. He’s always dealing with VIP diners and their unreasonable demands. Of course, our diners are not at all like the cranky people he encounters.”
