Cal State Announces $1-Million Gift
Cal State San Bernardino officials said Wednesday they will receive $1 million for a second building at a satellite campus in Palm Desert. The gift, from the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation, was announced at a ceremony marking construction of the campus’ first building, also paid for by the foundation.
Students will begin attending class in the first building in January, said spokesman Joe Gutierrez.
The school hopes to complete a $27-million fund-raising drive, allowing it to finish three buildings by 2005 or 2006. The university has already collected $18 million, Gutierrez said.
