Paris Ballet on Its Toes

Share

Toe shoes and tutus laid to rest until the following day’s performance, cast members of the historic Paris Opera Ballet joined with major donors to the Orange County Performing Arts Center to celebrate their opening-night performance in “La Bayadere” on Tuesday in Segerstrom Hall.

In Costa Mesa for a five-day engagement (closing with today’s matinee), the 90 dancers--including star performers Manuel Legris and Aurelie Dupont--joined with about as many donors to hear French jazz tunes and sample seafood and pasta dishes at Scott’s Seafood Grill & Bar.

French consul to Los Angeles Josseline de Clausade pronounced the performance choreographed by Rudolf Nureyev “Formidable!”
