Fire Chars 1,500 Acres in Klamath National Forest
From Times Wire Services
The first major wildfire of the season in Northern California had charred nearly 1,500 acres in and around Klamath National Forest by Saturday.
The blaze was 75% contained, and firefighters hoped to completely contain it today, then extinguish it Monday. Strong winds and temperatures in the 90s were hindering firefighters’ efforts.
No injuries or damage to structures were reported.
