3 Gasoline Bombs Found, Officials Say

Share

Gasoline bombs have been found near two Los Angeles schools and a Rosemead library, authorities said.

The devices consist of flammable material in a bottle hidden under orange traffic cones with a plastic flower stuck in the top, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Vanette Ford.

“The movement of the flower or the bottle could cause an explosion,” Ford said. “Our fear is that the flower and the cone are intended to entice a child.”

One was found near Nightingale Middle School and another near Hillside Elementary School. The third was outside the Los Angeles County Library’s Rosemead branch.

Anyone with information is asked to call LAPD detectives at (213) 473-7474 or the Sheriff’s Department at (562) 946-7222.
