From Times Wire Reports

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton urged Yale seniors to reject cynicism and indifference and get involved in politics.

“Government is us, and each generation has to stake its claim. And as stakeholders, you will have to decide whether or not to make the choice to participate,” Clinton (D-N.Y.) told the 1,332 seniors.

She spoke during Class Day, a celebration held for seniors the day before graduation that features crazy hats, songs, awards and ages-old rituals.

By tradition, Yale does not have a speaker at graduation. But today, at its 300th graduation, Yale is awarding an honorary degree to President Bush and has invited him to speak briefly.
