As the days get long and hot, relax with a smooth, cool drink with just enough punch to make you want to put your feet up and take a deep breath.

* El Carmen: Bartender Jennifer Searle’s Almond Tequila Blended tastes just like a sour almond Slurpee. She also has fresh fruit margaritas: mango, strawberry, raspberry. (Almond Tequila Blended, $7.50; margaritas, $7.25.) El Carmen, 8138 W. 3rd St., Los Angeles, (323) 852-1552.

* Good Luck Bar: Yeemeloo, otherwise known as “the blue drink,” is rum, vodka, coconut cream, blue Curacao and pineapple juice, served in a hurricane glass garnished with mint, cherry and lemon. There’s also the “good luck,” a wild combination of melon liquor, amaretto, milk and cranberry juice. (Yeemeloo, $7; Good Luck, $7.) Good Luck Bar, 1514 Hillhurst Ave., Los Angeles, (323) 666-3524.

* Chiller’s: With all the mixers going constantly, this place looks like a laundry. Among its 20 flavors of slush are the Suicide--three rums, vodka, triple sec and five fruit juices--and the Strong Buzz: vodka, tropical punch and fresh orange juice. These alcoholic coolers come in 11-, 17- or 21-ounce plastic souvenir cups. (Frozen drinks, $4 to $6.) Chiller’s, 239 N. Harbor Drive, Redondo Beach, (310) 798-3170.

* Tahiti: One specialty of this tropical retreat is the Bahama Mama: rum, coconut cream, orange and pineapple juices and a squirt of grenadine. Another is a margarita or mango puree and Chinaco Anejo tequila splashed with Grand Marnier. (Bahama Mama, $9.25; mango margarita, $7.) Tahiti, 7910 W. 3rd St., Los Angeles, (323) 651-1213.

* Chimayo at the Beach: Take in the view of the sand and surf while you savor a Lava Flow (light rum, coconut cream, fresh strawberries and pineapple juice garnished with an orange slice and a cherry) or a melon margarita (a Sauza tequila blended with Midori liqueur and lime juice into a bright green froth). (Lava Flow, $5.75; melon margarita, $6.) Chimayo at the Beach, 315 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, (714) 374-7273.
