Center Stage Kids, a musical theater workshop based in Simi Valley, will lead a tour through Broadway songbooks when the troupe performs Saturday in Thousand Oaks. Produced and directed by Eric Cohen, the musical revue “Kids Take to the High Seas” will feature an evening of standards and favorite show tunes. The cast of 28 ranges in age from 7 to 13.

Cajun Creole Festival

Cajun and zydeco rhythms will highlight this weekend’s 12th annual Cajun Creole Music Festival in Simi Valley. The event is a major fund-raiser for the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise. Featured will be Cajun-zydeco performers Hunter Hayes (Saturday, 4 p.m.; Sunday, noon), Acadiana (Saturday noon), Leroy Thomas & the Zydeco Road Runners (Saturday, 2 p.m.; Sunday, 1:30 p.m.) and Lisa Haley & the Zydekats (Saturday, 5:30 p.m.; Sunday, 4 p.m.). For country music fans: Hal Ketchum (Saturday, 7:30 p.m.) and Lynn Anderson (Sunday, 5:30 p.m.). There will also be a kids mardi gras parade (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.; Sunday, 3 p.m.), plus food and crafts vendors.

Native American Traditions

The sixth annual Gathering of the People Powwow will be held this weekend at Oakbrook Regional Park / Chumash Interpretive Center in Thousand Oaks. The alcohol- and drug-free event will feature traditional drumming, dancing, arts and crafts, and food. There will also be open drumming and dancing activities. Proceeds will benefit cultural and environmental programs at area elementary schools.

Tribute to the King

Elvis impersonator Raymond Michael will stage his popular “A Tribute to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” Monday at Conejo Community Park in Thousand Oaks. The concert is a freebie, sponsored by the city of Thousand Oaks. Picnicking is encouraged. No pets.
