School Gets New Coach for Academic Decathlon
Simi Valley High School has a new academic decathlon coach and will return to competition for the 2001-2002 season after missing this year’s tournament.
Debbie Mjoen of Simi Valley, who often substituted at the school, has been hired as a full-time English teacher. She will immediately begin the process of selecting members for the academic decathlon team.
Led by coaches Ken and Sally Hibbitts, the team won the 1999-2000 state competition and placed second in the national contest in San Antonio.
