Fans Think Dodgers Are Way Off Base

Share

By now, it’s become painfully obvious that the Dodgers will never win the NL West without more offense, and that Darren Dreifort will never pitch more than 5 2/3 solid innings per start without divine intervention. Solution? Trade Dreifort. He may not ever live up to his much-vaunted “promise,” but there are several teams around the majors that would be more than willing to give up some potent bats (and eat his ridiculous salary) to find out for themselves.

Why can’t the Dodgers score runs? Perhaps next time the Dodgers decide to shell out millions for two overpaid and underperforming leadoff center fielders, they will get ones that can actually hit in the major leagues. Marquis Grissom and Tom Goodwin are batting less than .250. Not only do they hardly hit or get on base, they do not even move runners forward.

Why is it that they can’t find someone in their farm system to play center field and bat .200, save some money and buy themselves an everyday catcher who can hit, or a shortstop who can hit, or a third baseman who can hit?

Dear Dodgers,

Just found out about a great new thing that just might help the team. Seems there are these pitchers who--get this--actually throw the ball with their left hand! Amazing, huh? Not only that, but word is they are able to get left-handed hitters out, unlike your current bullpen.

I know this is something you’re totally unaware of. Look into it.
