Man Killed After Walking Into Traffic
A 30-year-old man was killed Friday night after stopping his car on the Golden State Freeway and walking into oncoming traffic, authorities said.
The man, whose name was not released, had been driving south when he stopped his Dodge Daytona in the fast lane near Smokey Bear Road about 8:45 p.m. His car was then struck from behind by a Toyota Corolla, said California Highway Patrol spokeswoman Becky Lynch.
The Dodge driver then got out of his car, hopped the freeway guardrail and walked onto the northbound lanes, where he was hit by a number of cars and killed, Lynch said.
