The UCLA Film and Television Archive’s annual series “The Movie That Inspired Me” continues with Drew Barrymore presenting Woody Allen’s 1977 film “Annie Hall,” which won Academy Awards for best picture, director, actress and original screenplay. Barrymore, who worked with Allen on the 1996 musical “Everyone Says I Love You,” literally grew up on-screen, from playing Elliot’s little sister in “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” to adult roles in “Boys on the Side,” “Scream” and her turn as producer-star of last year’s hit “Charlie’s Angels.” The series continues Friday with Sean Penn and the 1971 John Cassavetes film “Minnie & Moskowitz” and July 7 with James Ellroy presenting Andre de Toth’s 1954 “Crime Wave.” The screenings will be followed by an informal discussion and Q&A; with each artist, moderated by filmmaker and archive director Curtis Hanson (“L.A. Confidential”).
