Allison Makes Home Debut
Not even an injured foot and leg could keep newcomer Jason Allison from making his home debut with the Kings Thursday night against Chicago at Staples Center.
Allison, who suffered his injury in Tuesday’s loss to the Blackhawks and did not practice on Wednesday, made a game-time decision to play.
Allison, who was acquired from Boston on Oct. 24 after a five-week holdout with the Bruins, had an assist on Adam Deadmarsh’s second goal in the Kings’ 3-2 loss to the Blackhawks on Thursday.
“It’s been tough to not scrimmage or play in any games for six months and then come in and play three road games in four days,” Allison said before Thursday’s game.
“I came in expecting to do good things.”
In five games with the Kings, Allison has only two points.
Not the type of start he was hoping for with his new team.
“I didn’t expect to be on top of my game, but it’s been tough on me mentally,” Allison said.
“If the team was winning and I wasn’t playing well, then it wouldn’t bother me as much because I know that I didn’t go to training camp or play in any exhibition games.”

Goaltender Stephane Fiset must feel like he can’t catch a break.
While playing for Manchester, the Kings’ American Hockey League affiliate, Fiset sprained an anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on Saturday and will be sidelined at least four weeks.
Fiset missed all but seven games last season because of two injuries to his left knee.
