An 18-year-old Fullerton man was stabbed to death allegedly by an acquaintance Sunday morning at his girlfriend’s house, police said.

Mitchell Curran’s girlfriend came out of the shower about 9:30 a.m. in her home in the 300 block of North Lilly Street to find him lying on the floor with multiple stab wounds. The girl, a minor, told police Curran had been arguing with Jason Tufte, 24, of Fullerton. Tufte knew both the victim and the girl, and had come to the house half an hour earlier, police said. Curran was reportedly dead by the time paramedics arrived.

Police said they found Tufte that afternoon at the Chuck Wagon bar in Corona. He was arrested and charged with murder, and is being held in the Fullerton City Jail. Bail was set at $250,000, but Tufte is a parolee and can not be released without consent of a parole board, police said.

“We’re still piecing this together,” said Lt. Danny Becerra of the Fullerton Police Department. “The girl lived at the house with her parents. They were away for this morning.”
