Man Dies After Being Hit by Possibly 4 Cars
A man walking across a Fullerton street died Monday after being hit and dragged 50 yards by as many as four cars, none of which apparently stopped, police said.
The accident occurred about 8:45 p.m. on Orangethorpe Avenue between Ray and Richmond avenues as the man, whose identity was not released pending notification of relatives, walked across the street outside of a crosswalk. A car traveling westbound hit him, police said, knocking him into the eastbound lanes. At that point, he was struck by another two or three cars and dragged 50 yards, said Police Lt. Danny Becerra.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
