Couple to Stand Trial in Torture of Daughter

A Burbank couple were ordered to stand trial Monday on charges that they tortured their 12-year-old daughter with beatings and starvation.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Alan S. Kalkin bound Marcus Allan, 43, and Erlinda Reyes Allan, 38, over for trial.
The parents were arrested in December after police and child welfare investigators found the girl, bruised and malnourished, hiding near her home.
