Court Rejects Lawsuit Against WWII Memorial

The controversial plan for a World War II memorial on the National Mall cleared another hurdle when a U.S. appeals court threw out a lawsuit by foes who fear the project will ruin the capital’s historic promenade.

With work already begun at the site between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument, the federal judges upheld a lower court’s finding that Congress did not violate the Constitution in May when it barred legal challenges to the location and design already approved for the memorial.
