Therapist, Ex-Wife Plead Guilty in Sex Case

A licensed family therapist specializing in treating minors has pleaded guilty, along with his ex-wife, to multiple counts of having unlawful sex with a 14-year-old patient from Fillmore.

Allen Eldredge, 56, of Chatsworth, will be sentenced on Jan. 18 on 29 counts of forcible sex after entering his plea on Wednesday in Ventura County Superior Court. He faces a minimum sentence of 90 years in prison.

His ex-wife, Judy Eldredge, 45, pleaded guilty to a lesser count of aiding and abetting her ex-husband as well as to three counts of having unlawful sex with a minor. She will be sentenced on Feb. 21 and faces as many as six years in prison.

The couple were arrested at their Chatsworth home on Nov. 25 after the female patient, then 20, reported the incidents to sheriff’s deputies in Fillmore.

The sexual abuse started in 1995 and continued through 1997, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Wendy Macfarlane, who prosecuted the case.
