Girl, 4, Killed in Driveway Accident

A 4-year-old girl died Sunday morning after a car rolled over her in the driveway of her family’s Santa Clarita home, authorities said.
Josie Martinez was playing with her 7-year-old sister in the driveway in the 29500 block of Wistaria Valley Road when the vehicle rolled backward, said Officer James Blankenship of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Santa Clarita Station.
The children attempted to jump out of the way, but Josie fell and was run over, Blankenship said.
She was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, where she died. The cause of the accident was under investigation, Blankenship said.
