Los Angeles City Council candidate Wendy Greuel filed complaints with state and city ethics agencies Tuesday alleging that state Assemblyman Tony Cardenas (D-Sylmar), an opponent in the race, has not properly disclosed city and state campaign activity.

The two are competing for the 2nd District seat.

In letters to the Fair Political Practices Commission and the Los Angeles Ethics Commission, Stephen J. Kaufman, an attorney for Greuel, accused Cardenas of failing to file city campaign reports with the state and updated reports on his state committees with the city.

Greuel, an executive with DreamWorks SKG, also called on Cardenas to close a state committee that has raised more than $400,000, much of it from Indian gaming interests, for an aborted run for secretary of state.

Fred Woocher, an attorney for Cardenas, said he is looking into the issue and said proper disclosures will be made.

Cardenas will close his secretary of state committee, said campaign consultant Richie Ross.
