Purchase of Land for Airport Park-Ride OKd

The Airport Commission on Tuesday voted to buy a $1.6-million parcel in Sylmar for a 1,290-car park-and-ride that will serve Los Angeles and Ontario international airports.
The Sylmar Flyaway is planned for 13503 San Fernando Road near the Golden State and Foothill freeways. It is scheduled to open in 18 months, according to Los Angeles World Airports.
The total project cost is $11.8 million.
The Sylmar center will provide nonstop bus service to and from LAX and Ontario.
