* The Vancouver Museum has two exhibitions open through January: “Exotic Objets d’Arts: Chinese Amber and Ivory Carvings” ends Jan. 6; and the interactive family exhibition “Sherlock Holmes and the Clocktower Mystery,” which has visitors solving a mystery in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s London, closes Jan. 2. 1100 Chestnut St. (604) 736-4431.

* A revival of Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man,” featuring Jeff Hyslop as Prof. Harold Hill, takes the stage at the Vancouver Playhouse, Monday to Dec. 15. * “Vancouver Collects,” an assembly of three exhibitions featuring local art collections of modern art, photography and work by the Canadian painters known as the Group of Seven, is on view at the Vancouver Art Gallery through Jan. 20. Also coming up: “The Uncanny: Experiments in Cyborg Culture.” This exhibition, which runs Feb. 9 to May 26, examines the cyborg as a representation of cultural anxiety about mechanization, and it includes 19th and 20th century artwork, as well as contemporary film, animation and illustrations. 750 Hornby St. (604) 662-4719.
