Tori Amos is on her first solo tour since 1994, but that doesn’t mean she’ll be alone onstage. The intense and often enigmatic singer-songwriter will be joined at each show, its marketing says, by the essence of one of the women who populate her new album, “Strange Little Girls”--a set of songs written by men as interpreted by a gallery of female characters.

Tori Amos, with Rufus Wainwright, Wiltern Theatre, 3790 Wilshire Blvd., L.A., 8 p.m. Sold out. (213) 380-5005. Also Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.
