The Boston Bruins have rediscovered their scoring touch and it’s paying off.

Joe Thornton scored at 1:45 of overtime to lift Boston to a 5-4 win over the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night at Boston.

After a stretch of four games in which they scored a total of seven goals, the Bruins now have 10 goals in their last two.

“We have three lines who can score a lot of goals and we are finally coming together,” said Thornton, who also assisted for his 200th NHL point. “We’re finally burying our scoring chances.”

The Devils tied the game at 4-4 when Bobby Holik poked his fifth goal of the season into the net from just in front with 27 seconds left in regulation.

The Bruins had taken a 4-3 lead on Jozef Stumpel’s wrist shot from the slot at 16:37 of the third period.

Patrik Elias had a goal and an assist for New Jersey.

Martin Brodeur (8-7-1) made his 16th straight start in goal for New Jersey and stopped 39 of Boston’s 44 shots.

“There are not too many games we can win allowing 44 shots,” Holik said. “We gave them opportunity after opportunity and with that kind of play we’re not going to win many games.”

Phoenix 5, San Jose 3--Daymond Langkow broke a tie with a power-play goal and Ladislav Nagy added his second goal of the game as the Coyotes won at Phoenix.

Sergei Berezin and Krystofer Kolanos also scored for the Coyotes, who overpowered Shark backup goalie Miikka Kiprusoff with a season-high 37 shots.
