Thanksgiving Also Has a Feast of Church Services

An interfaith Thanksgiving worship service will take place at Temple Beth El of South Orange County at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Participants will include Rabbi Allen Krause of Temple Beth El, Richard C. Wiggers of Laguna Niguel Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Bruce Lavery of St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church, the Rev. Jack Hennings Jr. of Faith Episcopal Church, Rabbi Michael Churgel of Temple Beth El, Chaplain Ron Hyrchuk of South Coast Medical Center and Kay Lindahl of Alliance for Spiritual Community. * Temple Beth Emet and the Anaheim United Methodist Church will celebrate its 43rd annual interfaith Thanksgiving at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Also joining them for the fourth year will be the Emanuel Pentacostal Romanian Church of God. The event will be at Temple Beth Emet, 1770 W. Cerritos Ave., Anaheim. (714) 772-4720.

* Placentia United Methodist Church will celebrate a Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Steve Chance, president of Golden Clay Ministries, will deliver the message. The church is at 2050 Valencia Ave. (714) 528-1483.

* Tustin Presbyterian Church will offer thanks during a Thanksgiving Eve service at 7 p.m. Wednesday. An offering of nonperishable food will be taken.

* Congregation B’nai Tzedek’s Adult Education Committee will offer a mini-course titled “Toward Developing an Attitude of Gratitude” each Tuesday through Dec. 4. * Temple Beth Tikvah and Alumni Friends of City University of New York will co-host “From California to the New York Island,” a tribute, party and fund-raiser in honor of the people of New York from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Cost is $5 for adults and a two-can food donation for children. All proceeds will go to the Orange County United Way Foundation and the Jewish Federation’s Sept. 11 Fund.
