Uplifting Story of Immigrant Success

“From Virtual Slavery to Being Boss” [Oct. 25] is a wonderful, positive, uplifting story that should have made not just the front page of the Business section but the front page of every major newspaper in America.
With every newspaper screaming “anthrax” and talk of immigrants, both legal and illegal, coming to America to destroy our way of life, it is so very refreshing to see two people and their story of realizing the dream of owning a business in this great country of ours.
How easy it could have been for them and the Thai community to blame our government for not protecting them from the likes of those who enslaved them. Instead, they persevered, studied, scrimped and saved, opening a business that my girlfriend and I will eat at this very weekend. It doesn’t get any better than that.
